SEMA Coalition Statement on Section 232 Action on Polysilicon and Its Derivatives
Washington, DC – The Solar Energy Manufacturers for America (SEMA) Coalition today issued the following statement from Executive Director Mike Carr regarding the Trump Administration’s Section 232 action on polysilicon and its derivatives:
“Solar is and will remain the cleanest, fastest, and most affordable way to meet our increasing electricity demands in the U.S. Concentrated, Chinese-owned and cartel-controlled supply chains are a national security threat to American energy and manufacturing, and we appreciate the administration’s focus on rebuilding a secure, domestic solar supply chain. We look forward to working with the administration on the implementation details to ensure that a remedy provides a level playing field for domestic producers. The remedy must support continued US investments in critical solar component manufacturing to meet our demand for affordable electricity while supporting good American jobs”
